Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: for this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. Matthew 13:14:-16
There are people I love who have gone to church all their lives and read the Bible regularly but they don’t seem to be able to really understand the truth about God and His love towards man. This lack of understanding is not restricted to a few in the Laymen’s Evangelical Fellowship (LEF) but it appears to be a problem affecting other churches in South India. I was also once blinded but God is opening my eyes, ears and heart. He has placed a burden in my heart to start this blog so that if by any means the blind eyes may see and the deaf ears may hear and they understand with their hearts and that they be converted and that God will heal my land. Since the people’s heart have waxed gross, their ears are dull of hearing and they have closed their eyes, in order to make them understand, it seems necessary to specifically mention the name of the church to ensure that the target audience is reached.
Suniemi is the Greek word that is translated as understand in these verses. It means: to put together, that is, (mentally) to comprehend; by implication to act piously: – consider, understand, be wise.
